I've often compared amateur apologists to failed American Idol auditions because in both situations they are blind to their inadequacies as a result of an immature narcissism and false feedback, and well, this is the gauntlet of amateur apologists.

Instead of a rude Simon Cowell, we get a polite but decisive Alex O'Conner, who embodies the man in that ad where he slaps down everyone at the barbeque, and Alex is able to effortlessly bat down any of the so-called objections and counterarguments.

I find in amazing and appalling simultaneously how little each person knew, how they couldn’t stay on topic, how they couldn't finish a thought, how they couldn't address things head on and forthrightly. It's one thing to believe what you want to believe, but it's another thing to think you have an answer.

The "Axiomatic Expectation Mismatch Problem" that one of the amateur apologists brought up simultaneously speaks to their erroneous approach to debating the Bible as it allows them to shift blame onto skeptical readers of the Bible as if the readers own values, intuitions, and perceptions could be wrong.

Only our values aren't wrong, and now, when it comes to morality and needless human and animal suffering, suddenly God becomes the one hiding his own "nakedness" when we call out for him to ask, "Where is God?".

But who told God that he was naked?

We did, our own values did. Our own constructed forms of meaning informed God that he's naked and not '"omnibenevolent".

If our opinions are so meaningless, then why does God act so self-conscious through the words, attitudes, and behaviors of his believers, defenders, and apologists?
